To mark our centenary, we commissioned a special craft gin to mark the milestone. We collaborated with Brindle Distillery, run by the family of Old Westholmian Liz Long, who is now a LAMDA teacher at Westholme.

Westholme Centenary Craft Gin is a handcrafted London dry gin infused with fresh Rosemary, basil and bright notes from lime and grapefruit.

A limited run of 100 bottles is available to purchase from the school’s office, during the celebratory lunches, or are available online for £30 each.

Liz’s husband, Mark Long, said: “We are delighted to collaborate with Westholme, and have created a special blend to celebrate their 100 years.

“It has a beautiful Mediterranean feel to the premium gin, made using ingredients which include our own spring water. It has double the juniper for an average gin, rounded off with zesty lime and grapefruit.”

Dr Richard Robson, Principal at Westholme School, said: “We have commissioned a wide range of merchandise to mark the monumental milestone in Westholme’s history and this lovely gin is the perfect addition to add to the hoodies, cups, pens and other Centenary items available. Having a former student creating the craft gin with her family is the perfect touch to mark our Centenary.”

Liz Long (Singleton) trained at the Guildford School of Acting and graduated in 2010 with a degree in Musical Theatre. She has performed around the country in various productions and has performed in the West End as part of the cast of Les Miserables. Her cast won the Olivier award for Best Musical in 2011 and they also performed at the awards.

Ironically, the family of Brindle Distillery shares the same surname as the school’s founder, Miss Emily Singleton, who formed the school in 1923.
