Dear Old Westholmians
We would like to draw your attention to an extremely distressing story that has recently emerged in the national news about Trudi Burgess, who has endured a horrific attack by her former partner, leaving her paralysed from the chest down.
Trudi is fondly remembered by many of us as Trudi Hide, a vibrant and spirited student who graced Westholme in the early 1980s. In light of her current circumstances, Trudi's children, Gina and Jackson, have established a GoFundMe page. We ask you to take a moment to visit the page, read her unimaginable story and watch the YouTube link showcasing Trudi’s performance at Ronnie Scott's in London, a radiant moment that feels like a lifetime away from the difficult future she now faces.
We are also organising a charity fundraiser - probably a physical challenge in the Spring of next year, not only to support Trudi but to raise awareness about domestic violence. If you would like more information or wish to participate, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at rjmols@gmail.com.
Please donate if you can. This appeal is made by Westholme Old Girls with the full blessing of Trudi and her family.
