As the first of our series of lunches, and the first of a long list of events taking place throughout the year, it was a fantastic way to start what we’re sure will be a year to remember in Westholme’s special history.
The Croston Theatre was alive with laughter, chatter, hugs and a few happy tears as we welcomed OWs back to Westholme (some of whom had not been back for decades). It was a chance for OWs to come back to Westholme, enjoy a fabulous buffet put on by our catering partners Thomas Franks, catch up with old friends and meet new ones. Our special guests were also able to view the lovely Centenary exhibition that had been erected in the Theatre foyer as part of the centenary celebrations.
We’d like to give a special mention and huge thank you to former Principal Mrs Croston for hosting the event. She shared her tales of her 25 wonderful years as head of Westholme in a wonderful speech. Thank you also to our Alumni who made the special trip back to Westholme, some who had been away for longer periods of time than others. We’re looking forward to our next Alumni Centenary Lunch which will be held on Saturday 25 February.
A very special thank you to Vera who travelled back to Westholme (pictured in red below with Dr Robson), having left Westholme in 1966! Vera attended Westholme through the 60’s and was thrilled to see so much of what she remembers in our Centenary Exhibition.
Thank you to everyone who attended the event and made it such a special occasion for everyone involved.
