We are saddened to announce Edward Slinger’s death on 31^st of July 2023.

Many members of the Westholme community will doubtless have fond memories of His Honour Slinger, who was a Governor at Westholme from 1985 to 2018, most latterly as our Vice Chairman.

Edward was a man of exceptional talents and intellect but moreover, he was relentlessly fair, generous and dedicated to the School throughout his 33 years of service, and beyond. His four children and a number of his grandchildren all attended Westholme. Edward and his wife Rosalind attended our Prep opening in November and he was delighted to see the progress the School continues to make.

As Mrs Slinger said, “He very much valued working with all the staff at Westholme and being part of the Governing Body.  Westholme has truly been part of our family life for over half a century and he enjoyed many happy times and friendships.  I would be very grateful if you could pass this message on to the many people he had been privileged to know.”
